Part I - Log-In for Current Members

The Home Page.
It’s the first thing visitors see when they browse to the IBC website. From there they can look up all the things they were able to on the ‘old’ website by choosing links of the top or Main Menu, plus it also offers a quick glance into upcoming shows and current specials at IBC Sales.

Logging in for the first time. Visitors are presented with a “Login” module on the left-hand side. This is for existing members who already have paid for a membership with the IBC. All current members have been imported into the database, along with their current membership type plans, expiration dates, etc. and will be able to login whenever they are ready. For detailed instructions, please refer to the manual in the BetterBettas files section.

You CANNOT use your Yahoo username and password. Separate credentials are required!

Users who create a new account (not an existing members who was imported), please use the username and password you've created when signing up for your membership. You should have receive an automated message with your login information.

The logged-in user. Once a member has logged into the system, they are presented with an additional “Member Menu” (the Login module will be gone). This Member Menu allows members to change their user information via the “My Profile” link (see screenshots below).

Member MenuProfile
In addition, members can check their current membership status via the “My Membership” link on the Member Menu.
Membership Status
The “Overview” tab on the Membership page will tell the member which type of membership he/she has and how many days are left in the current membership. As visible in the screenshot above, the expiration notice is color-coded, (blue/yellow/red) so members get a visual sense of when they should click on the “Renew Now” button.
Invoice Tab
The “Invoices” tab will show their last invoice(s), along with the paid amount, payment date and method of payment. In case a payment has failed (i.e. outage at PayPal), there will be links visible under the actions column that will allow the member to try their payment again under the same invoice number or to cancel the invoice, if i.e. they sent a check by mail instead.
Details Tab
The “Details” tab gives each member a brief message regarding their account status at IBC Sales. If the member has a sales account with the same email address as used on the IBC site, they see a message like in the example above. If they do not have a sales account, use a different email address or their membership has expired, they will see an appropriate error message with a link to the webmaster email, in case they have questions.

Part 2 – The Renewal Process

Current member who would like to renew their membership, simply have to click on the “Renew Now” button as shown in Part 1. From there, he/she will be redirected to the Plan selection page from which the member can either choose the same plan they initially registered with or choose make another selection from the list by clicking on the “Buy Now” button for each plan choice (see screen image below).
Plans Page
Next, the user is redirected from the "Confirmation" to the “Checkout” page that gives the details of their choice and also offers the ability to enter a Coupon Code (may/may not be visible at all times, used in conjunction with a promotion.) Coupons must be applied via the “Apply” button to take effect.
Checkout
Upon clicking the “Checkout” button, the user is redirected to the familiar PayPal page, where he/she can either pay by logging into an existing PayPal account or via credit card by choosing “Continue” link.
PayPal Page
Once the payment process is complete, the user is returned to the IBC site. A short message will thank him for the renewal and he/she can then check the updated status via the “My Membership” link.
Renewed Date

Part 3 – Expired Memberships

While the renewal process for expired members is not significantly different as described in Part 2, there is one key difference: expired members will NOT be able to login, but instead are redirected to their membership page with the expiration notice visible.
Expired Page
At the present time, there is no difference in behavior as far as clicking the “Extend Previous Membership” button or the “Renew Now” button to renew a membership. Either button will take the member to the plans page to make a selection and then to PayPal to complete the payment. (Note: this is not due to a programming bug, but rather a feature that is not fully developed yet.)

Members who do not renew will not be able to complete the login process. The “Login” module will stay blank and the user will continue to be redirected to the above page.
