At the last Orlando convention, the IBC formally approved three new programs pertaining to IBC research. Announcements detailing these programs are provided below.
  1. The IBC Student Research Fellowships are intended to support the use of Betta in the thesis research of undergraduate and graduate students.
  2. The IBC Science Fair Prize is intended to reward middle and high school age students who have preformed meritorious work using Betta.
  3. Finally, the Gene Lucas Fund has been instituted to both honor Gene and to build an endowment base that may eventually prove sufficient to support IBC research programs.
