Hi all

Brenton from South Australia here. My wife and I were charged with fish-sitting my eldest daughters two Male veil-tails about 2 months ago. They came in these silly little jars with massive crystals in the bottom. No heater, no filtration, and gold fish flakes.

We immediately went out and brought bigger accommodations and our first crown-tail. The move into the bigger home didn't go well for one VT. So I began to learn more. I joined the Australian chapter of the IBC. We brought a bigger barracks system with heating, etc and another VT. Our daughter's last fella wasn't enjoying the move so I isolated him and ordered in a new medicine cabinet full of remedies - unfortunately he passed away two days into treatment.

My two new Betta's however flourished. I understand they are LFS rescues now, and even some of the deficiencies in them through my research. I wanted to know more and raise even better fish. The bug had well and truly inserted its teeth.

I now have four tanks. A fifth is planned as is a new barracks system. I'm even designing sumps. I've just ordered my first imported breeding pair of green/turquoise CT's. I'm about to commence live feed production. My wife is wondering how much of the house I'm going to take over...

Very happy to be here - BT

It becomes a case of how little of the house you really need to live in.

And welcome. Lots more Aussies here abouts these days.
